The coordination between standard and opensource becomes more imperative when a generic network automation platform is to support multiple commercial use cases for global operators, as different SDOs and forum have specified different model for key artifacts such as service, resources, and operators might make their choices independently. ETSI NFV/OASIS TOSCA standard has been supported in vendor products. TMF API has been widely used and integrated with MEF interlude interface. And ONF TAPI has been integrated into MEF core and resource models. The remaining piece for service modeling is the key to end-to-end cross carrier, cross domain service provisioning and automation. And multicloud modeling for K8S, Azure, Vmware et. al. is the next target for resource modeling going forward. This panel will discuss how opensource and SDO would work better to get alignment and avoid fragmentation.
