Application developers and network operators can deliver services more effectively by using traffic control and visibility tools available within service meshes. The mesh can steer traffic into cloud-native microservices with flexibility to provide a bridge between the network and applications. The lines become blurred allowing for seamless transition between debug and deployment phases.
Visibility hooks built into meshes can be leveraged to debug across boundaries. While there's a plethora of raw data, it can still be daunting to pinpoint issues.
The session will cover the work being done within OPNFV to link several CNCF projects and how visibility data can be correlated with network analysis to provide insights. A live demo of a specialized ingress controller and a unified visibility engine within an Istio mesh will highlight the benefits of these community integrations.
