If you are building cloud native applications with microservices, you are undoubtedly seeing many benefits, but also many difficulties. This is particularly apparent with containers and distributed systems such as Kubernetes.

Along with service discovery and container networking, we also need to have solutions that assist with routing (for canary, A/B testing), failure handling, circuit breaking, observability and performance management, and network policy control.

The concept of a Service Mesh (eg - istio, conduit, linkerd) aides microservices development by adding an infrastructure layer that handles service-to-service communication via distributed proxies.

In this session, I will show to use Service Mesh solutions to easily add complex network routing, telemetry and reporting, TLS security, fault injection, and policy enforcement to microservices based applications.
